This seven minute film was produced for the British book production company Butler Tanner & Dennis based in London and Somerset.
The brief was clear: create a vibrant, highly visual film reflecting the BT&D brand and its philosophy, showing the firm’s London and Frome locations and making book production look sexy!
Under the art direction of Barry Semark, who’s experience in both printing, graphic design and communications played a huge part in the success of this corporate production, MLCM was given access to key BT&D personnel, and allowed to maximise the company’s locations and the imagery they afforded.
Still with the story at the heart of the film – a key component to all of MLCM’s productions – we were determined not to loose the narrative amongst all this glossy, highly-stylised imagery – the result is a powerful film that makes the most of both, and to good effect.
With motion controlled photography from MLCM associate Grant Wakefield, the film combined several high-end components to make this corporate film work hard for BT&D.
Soon after its production, the film was premiered in 2009 by Butler Tanner and Dennis at the Berlin Book Fair.
