MLCM collaborated with the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council on several films as part of their Impact! campaign.
Together with the Arts and Humanities Research Council, EPSRC initiated an £8M Science and Heritage programme to help protect Britain’s cultural legacy for future generations.
Filmed in just a single day using two crews, MLCM gathered interviews at York Minster and the city’s university, together with general shots of the Minster and the current restoration work, to create this enlightening short film revealing the techniques being deployed to protect this beautiful building.
In terms of impact, the film describes how the processes being developed by UK scientists have the potential to be deployed on similar limestone buildings throughout the world.
