Rowdeford School
Since its inception, MLCM has been working closely with several schools, helping them raise their profile with a number of highly-crafted, bespoke films reflecting the school’s appeal, educational remit and ethos.
In fact, in 2006, when we first started, we were invited by the former George Ward School in Melksham, Wilts., to make a “hard-hitting” “Panorama style” feature showing the state of the school warts and all.
It was shown to Councillors as part of the school’s bid for new money from the Government’s Building Schools for the Future programme.
The impact of the film was tremendous, reducing councillors to tears as they saw the desperate situation this “modern” secondary school had been reduced to.
It prompted them to vote through the £20m bid and today George Ward has been transformed into Melksham Oak Community School – a brand new school which has brought back a huge amount of pride to not only the school community but the town at large.
It was a tremendous first production for MLCM.
Since then we’ve gone on to make several more films for MOCS, and as a result we were also invited to produce a DVD Prospectus for Rowdeford, another local school, for children with special educational needs.
